It's amazing how many mods come and go without stumbling upon exactly what makes this mod such a fantastic piece of work--a unique, well-fleshed alien race. This mod takes Keen onto the surface of a new planet with a freshly-damaged ship. Through a Wizard-of-Oz style mishap, Keen is quickly caught up in the politics of this small planet, and, being the heroic fellow he is, must set out to right his wrongs. A powerful story set amidst well defined scenery and comfortable level design help this mod shine.
The level design is expansive and very remiscient of the original Keen1, providing an unnamed sense of familiarity to the player. At no point did I have to stop and wonder whether a part of the scenery would damage me, or whether or not an item could be collected. All in all, this mod is a phenomenal success, and quite possibly the sleeper hit of the 2004 year.
