On the shareware exit screen (available on above link) you can see the original price of Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure is $35 + $4 shipping & handling! Yet it is currently available online at 3drealms for $10... Why?
- Negative inflation (deflation)
- It's an old game
- New low cost manufacturing
Prehaps the real reason is because every year there is like 10 times more computer users so even though it is old, they probably sold more copies last year than they did in 1992!
The market demand must be greater for new games than it is for old games so most companies exclusively sell newer games... Yet for the same reason, I'm betting 3drealms has a large share of the market for old games! Quality games will out sell anything but I would not be surprised if some of these Apogee titles are out selling some of new silly stuff like Valuesoft titles!
Twisted Sister - Stay Hungry - The Price
OH IT'S THE PRICE WE GOTTA PAY
AND ALL THE GAMES WE GOTTA PLAY
MAKES ME WONDER IF IT'S WORTH IT TO CARRY ON
'CAUSE IT'S A GAME WE GOTTA LOSE,
THOUGH IT'S A LIFE WE GOTTA CHOOSE
AND THE PRICE IS OUR OWN LIFE UNTIL IT'S DONE

| yeah... I'm down with Cosmo, but it SUCKS compared to DOOM, Half-Life... Can you still buy Monster Bash? I want it so bad! They haven't dumped it as freeware yet! WHY? ITS NO BETTER THAN COSMO! (whoops... lost control... )|
Well, Cosmo is still cool... but quite frankly, these days, would you even want to spend 30 on Cosmo when you could get DOOM 3 with it?
